Programs

Year Long Program

Weekly classes take place during the school day over a 30 week period, school children experience an immersion in dance and music to promote achievement, teamwork and dedication. Classes culminate with an “Event of the Year” performance at Keene State College Memorial Day weekend when all the dancers from the nine participating schools come together to weave their work into a series of extraordinary performances with lights, costumes, professional orchestra and original music. We help children discover their potential by motivating them to develop the commitment that leads to excellence.

SWaT Team

SWAT stands for "spirited, willing, and talented"! Dancers are selected each December from all of the full year schools to participate in the SWAT program. The dancers rehearse rigorously every Saturday between January and May and perform in additional acts in "The Event of the Year". The SWAT team members act ambassadors performing at venues such as: Peterborough’s Children and the Arts Day, Dublin Days, The Pumpkin Festival in Keene, and Rivermead Retirement Community.

Residency Program

The residency program brings a professional NHDI teacher/choreographer into a school for a one, two or three week period. Our energetic teachers introduce children to the joy of the arts through dance, teamwork, listening, and practice, children learn that there is no end to what they can achieve with their bodies and their minds. The pride that comes as a result is unparalleled.

Summer Program

Two-week dance intensive nurtures children's passion for dance by introducing them to various dance genres.  Four lead teachers introduce children to Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, NHDI Style, and teach them to how to create their own choreography.  NHDI's summer dance intensive is held at Marlborough School from 9am -3pm each day and is open to children entering second through eighth grades. No prior dance experience is necessary. A performance for family and friends is held on the final day of camp.
